PRETTY POND PARK
A tangled mess of woods prevented the homeowners from fully enjoying their backyard. To improve their view and give them a place to take leisurely walks, they looked to us to create a beautiful scene. After we cleared the land of undesirable trees and weeds, an inlet stream to an existing pond became visible—and became the focal point of this landscape transformation.
Limestone outcropping now lines the water to shore the banks. A stepping stone path to a custom-built cedar bridge provides everyday walking delights. And a natural stone patio along the pond becomes a destination for an evening glass of wine and conversation while viewing the reflections on the pond. Several turf and stone paths allow for casual strolls through the new setting among the plentiful varieties of hardwood trees, evergreens, and many understory shrubs and perennials.
